XTC-83 'Clean Guitar' Tube Preamp + Tube tremolo schematic
I've finished tuning the tremolo thingie and it sounds great!
Everything is tunable to your own playing, or to your own curiosity if you wish to experiment with components values.
From the capacitors of the lfo, to the potentiometers, the vactrol, the resistors..
You guys have an avenue for safe and rewarding exploration!
You could easily put everything on Lorlin switches and keep that freedom, but experience tells me that in the heat of the moment, simple is good
For my own use, the capacitors values i've settled for give a triplet feel for when the modulation kicks in while playing and a rather dimmed modulation so you can blend it in a more subtle way, but it can also chop the signal at max depth!
I've put my settings on the schematic as well so you can try it!
I like slow subtle modulation underneath, that's what i tried to do, since there is a strong chance it'll be modulated again ITB!
The tube LFO:
Think of that LFO as circular breathing.
If you choke it at super slow values or super fast ones, it's going to be out of breath, and you'll need to take it to a Rate value where it can take a breath, have a cigarette and go for broke again!
I'm adding a screen capture of the waveform of the modulation
And i'm adding you one last guitar example, the preamp is very inspiring, you start playing and you add riffs upon riffs, upon riffs lol!
